Differences between the image in the finder and the image that is actually saved |
The location of the image in the viewfinder does not match that which is recorded |
As a general rule, the viewfinder of a compact or digital camera is designed to see the subject, but because the position of the viewfinder varies slightly from that of the lens, the image that is actually recorded will be slightly displaced from the finder image when photographing nearby objects. Precise framing with a digital camera is possible when the liquid crystal display is used instead of the viewfinder. Notice, however, that the LCD drains the battery faster. Because of the movement on the LCD, some people tend to treat the digital camera as if it were a video camera, so they leave the LCD on and watch the motion. In doing so, they deny themselves the longer battery life that is possible with careful use. Generally it's a good idea to carry several backup batteries when using a digital camera. |
